SUMMARY

Responsible for all accounting activities.
Month End valuations, accounting reports, working with auditors, work directly with General manager.
Help out with IT issues especially with the accounting system.
Be willing to help out as needed with scale operation, grain origination, customer settlements and services and assist our other locations.
Work with other employees on projects as needed.

Must have strong communication skills and customer relationship building skills.

Must have a good understanding of grain accounting with the ability to handle the mark to market at month end, calculate the value of the ending inventory taking into account gains and losses on futures, purchase and sales contracts both flat price and basis.

Assemble financial statements within 7 business days of month end and prepare reports for the board meeting.

Be willing to put together other reports as needed for different activities using the accounting system, Excel, Word, PowerPoint or other programs.

Assist with IT especially in the accounting system.
Become our liaison with our software vendor and our IT people for the computer systems in the offices.

Keep all accounts reconciled on a monthly basis.

Answer telephone and be able to convey to our customers their account information.
Buy grain from customers, price and pay for the grain as needed.
Have an understanding of the current market and be willing to share information with our customer base.

Grade grain operate scales and other equipment as necessary in the normal course of the grain business.

Must be willing to work hours outside of the normal course of business.
Be willing to go above and beyond when necessary.

Understand and work with the daily position reports

Fill out insurance reports, USDA reports, Bank reports and other reports as needed.

Generate and perform end of year tax documents accurate and timely.
Monitor outstanding checks, grain settlements, transit grain, and work with employees regarding processing settlement issues.

Maintain patronage records accurately and generate patronage allocations and redemptions at the board of directors direction

Help administer and promote marketing programs that are offered to our customer base.

Always look for ways to streamline our current operations and be willing to share those ideas.

File and organize paperwork from settlements and other documents

Harvest typically lasts 6-8 weeks long.
Typical hours during harvest are 7 am- 7 pm Monday through Saturday and Sunday Noon 7 Pm.
These hours can and likely will change due to unforeseen weather circumstance s or logistics which may require longer hours.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Four-year degree in accounting or equivalent experience in the workplace.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
